Learning to drive later in life

While teenagers and younger people make up a large proportion of the learners we teach, there are lots of reasons why people don’t learn when they are younger. Learning when you are older can be just as easy and there are some extra benefits. We have helped people in their 30s, 40s, 50s, and beyond pass their driving test and there’s no reason why you can’t pass first time!

Starting manual or automatic driving lessons at any age can seem daunting but don’t worry, our instructors are trained to deliver lessons in a pupil-centred way. This means that everything is tailored to the way you learn and we work at your pace.

Whatever age you are, some people will find some elements more difficult than others, but we have strategies to help you master everything you need to know and will ensure that you are a safe competent driver, ready for your test and beyond.

Statistically, older drivers may find it a little harder to pass their test, but once they have passed they are involved in far fewer collisions than younger drivers. The good news is that despite being a new driver, because you are older the premiums are almost always lower than when compared to those under 21.

If you have had lessons before but stopped because of a bad experience, our instructors will help build your confidence and enjoy your driving.

If you have already passed your driving test but have not driven for years, get in touch as we can offer you refresher lessons to help improve your confidence and get you back on the road.
