You can start driving lessons when you are 17.
You can apply for your licence before your 17th birthday, but it will not be valid until you are 17.
You can apply for your provisional licence online, request a form from the DVLA or the form is available from selected Post Office branches.
For your first driving lesson you will need to bring your photo licence. We would also suggest that you choose comfortable footwear, not flip-flops or high heels. If it’s a sunny day, please bring sunglasses. If you wear reading glasses, bring those along.
There is no requirement for you to do so, some pupils find that combing their theory study with their driving lessons is better, while others feel more prepared by taking the Theory Test first. It really is down to personal preference and what you feel will be best for you. We have free theory tools, subscribe here
You can sign up for Theory Test Pro which will help you prepare for your Theory Test and you can always ask your driving instructor any questions. We would also advise you subscribe to our YouTube channel as well. We have lots of videos there to help you. Link here
This is a difficult question as it really depends on your aptitude and how quickly you learn, the quality and regularity of the driving lessons. The official DVSA answer is 40-60 hours on average but some people may pass a lot sooner. Ask about our intense courses if you need to pass quickly, or ask about having extra lessons during the week.
We understand that some pupils are more nervous than others, in the same way that some pupils will pick things up quicker than others. Our friendly and experienced instructors are patient and will soon put you at your ease. Our teaching methods will help you to overcome your nerves and we can work at your pace. We have helped hundreds of nervous students to pass their driving test and become safe confident drivers.
Yes, we offer both evening and weekend driving lessons, please contact us for availability.
You will use your driving instructors car for your test, most pupils also have a lesson just prior to taking their test. It is possible to use your on vehicle on the driving test – ask us about this.
Yes we can help, our driving instructors will assess your skills and correct any problems. If nerves were the problem, we will work with you to help you overcome these and prepare you for your next test. Many people come to Rio having failed more than 5 times. Do not worry – we will help you!
